The Simple Tracking System That Changed Everything
I'm not a data scientist or medical professional. Just someone desperate for answers.
So I created a basic tracking journal that logged:
- Brain fog severity (1-10) throughout the day
- Everything I ate and drank
- Digestive symptoms (gas, bloating, BM consistency)
- Sleep quality and duration
- Stress levels
- Simple memory and focus test scores
Nothing fancy – just consistent daily tracking.
After about three months, a pattern emerged that none of my doctors had caught:
My worst brain fog days came exactly 48 hours after digestive problems.
This wasn't random. It was a clear, predictable pattern:
- Gut issues would appear
- 1-2 days would pass with no apparent connection
- Brain function would plummet
The delay explained why neither I nor my doctors had made the connection before. The cause (gut inflammation) and effect (brain fog) were separated by enough time that they seemed unrelated.
